Archbishop Okeke Visits St. Theresa Of Calcutta Iba – Pope Awada, Obosi Urges Christians To Uphold Word Of God

The Catholic Community of Saint Theresa of Calcutta Iba-Pope Awada, Obosi over the weekend rolled out drums to receive the Metropolit­an Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiast­ical Province, Most Reverend Dr. Valerian Okeke who was on a one day pastoral visit to the Parish. Correspond­ent, Festus Obierika who covered the event reports that the visit was his first since the creation of the parish Five years ago. Arch-bishop Okeke whose homily centered on “The need to prove one’s religion and Practice it” called on the faithful to always allow the word of God to reflect on their actions and as well show love to one another. The Archbishop urged Christians not to be like those who only hear the word without putting it into practice and advised them to always keep the commandmen­ts of God, which according to the Prelate, gives life, progress and blessing even as he called on the candidates for the sacrament of confirmati­on to be true soldiers of Christ on earth. Appreciati­ng the Archbishop for the visit, the Parish Priest of the church, Very Reverend Father Joseph Umeasiegbu who expressed joy and gratitude to God for the visit, said it will help in transformi­ng the young parish as well boost the moral and spiritual growth of the parishione­rs.
