Portions Of Amansea Axis Of Enugu – Onitsha Expressway

The Anambra State Government has commenced palliative work on the failed portions of the Amansea axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway to reduce the hardship of commuters on the road . Inspection by the ABS news crew revealed that the axis are in a very deplorable condition including the old road off the Amansea axis of the Enugu-Onitsha and new Enugu-Onitsha expressway­s. The Permanent Secretary Anambra State Ministry of Works Mr Emeka Ohuoha who was at the site to inspect the pace of work which commenced last week said that the state government directed the Ministry to undergo urgent work on the road due to its dilapidate­d nature. He noted that since the commenceme­nt of the Palliative Work, the Ministry has reclaimed reasonable portions of the road which was two meters deep but has now been filled.

Mr Ohuoha a lawyer noted that the road has been made motorable to enable commuters move freely while work continues on the road. He recounted that the Ministry had before the commenceme­nt of the Palliative work removed lots of broken down vehicles as a result of bad road and assured that the road will be completed soon and appealed to the federal government to assist the state in rehabilita­ting the federal roads in the State to reduce the sufferings being faced by road users. A motorcycli­st Mr Adamu Abubakar and a road user Mr. Obiora Obed, thanked the Anambra State government for the measure put in place in alleviatin­g the hardship it has caused commuters and residents of the area.
