Ngozi Obileri Of ABS, Husband Chris Dedicate Twins In Awka

A couple, both Journalists practicing in Anambra State, have welcomed a set of twins after thirteen years of being without a child. Mr. Chris Obileri of Radio Nigeria, Purity FM, Awka and his wife, Mrs. Ngozi Obireli of Anambra Broadcasting Service got married on December 28, 2007, and have been praying for the fruit of the womb ever since. Their prayer was answered after Mrs. Obileri conceived in the thirtieth year of their marital journey and they became parents of twins, a boy and a girl.

In a homily during a mass to present the twins to God as an acknowledgement for his blessings and grace, the officiating priest at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Awka, Reverend Father Kelvin Okeke asked Christians to strive to become Christ like and be willing to serve at all times. The Catholic priest also challenged politicians to make the lives of Jesus Christ the bedrock of their leadership and aspirations, noting that Jesus was humble to serve the people whom he was leading during his time on earth. Mr. and Mrs. Obileri said they were filled with joy of being parents and recalled that they held on to God when people thought there was no possibility of conceiving. Congratulating the Obileri family, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr. Uche Nworah noted that the station shares in the awesome celebration of the divine breakthrough in their family, praying for more increase in the family and asked God to use their celebration as a point of contact to other young men and women who have similar issues. The mother of Mrs. Obileri, Mrs. Cecilia Echedom and an elder sister to Mr. Obileri Mrs. Rose Aganwuri, recounted several times they prayed and fasted to see to the breakthrough, as they pointed out that the dedication was to return the children to God and to show appreciation for his remarkable blessings in their homes.

Friends of the family including the Director of News and Current Affairs department of the ABS, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze in company of the ABS family, media personalities, University of Benin Alumni association and wellwishers gathered to celebrate with the Obileri family in grand style.
