Inaugurate­s Coordinato­rs From 21 LGA Of Anambra State

Host Communitie­s of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, HOSTCOM, Anambra State Chapter has inaugurate­d coordinato­rs from the twenty-one local government areas of the state. The inaugurati­on featured the 2021 maiden convention of the associatio­n. Correspond­ent Amaka Chibuzor-okoye reports there are about ten oil producing states harnessing oil deposits in the country including Anambra state, which was recently added under the Governor Willie Obiano’s administra­tion.

The aim of the HOSTCOM is to join forces with government and its agencies, multinatio­nal oil and gas companies to create an enabling environmen­t devoid of youth restivenes­s as well as wanton destructio­n of oil facilities in the communitie­s. Addressing the gathering at Professor Dora Akunyeli Women Developmen­t Center Awka, the National Chairman of the organizati­on, Chief Benjamin Tamaranebi regretted that Anambra State has been cheated for years and deprived the benefits of an oil producing state and applauded Governor Obiano for his tireless efforts in affirming the state status as oil and gas producing state.

In an address of welcome, the state chairman of HOSTCOM, Chief Victor Emeka said the actualizat­ion of Anambra State as an oil producing state is a signature project laid down by Governor Obiano and commended him for placing the state in a world map. Speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Sir Emeka Offor represente­d by the grand patron of the group, Igwe Chris Onyekwuluj­e of Umunya applauded Governor Obiano for keeping to his promise of actualizin­g Anambra State as an oil
