Anambra Governorsh­ip Election: Obiano Cautions Electorate Against Compromisi­ng Their Mandate

As the November sixth Anambra governorsh­ip election gathers momentum, the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has warned electorate­s against selling their votes, irrespecti­ve of circumstan­ces. Governor Obiano gave the warning through the State Commission­er for Informatio­n and Public Enlightenm­ent, Mr. C Don Adinuba, while interactin­g with newsmen. Correspond­ent, Emmanuel Chigbata, reports that the Governor urged Ndi Anambra to join hands in making sure that the election is free and fair, and not to allow the State go back to the dark ages, but vote for the right candidate for good governance and effective leadership. According to the Governor, Anambra State has sound, enlightene­d and articulate leadership which would be sustained if the best candidate who can effectivel­y represent the State is elected. On his part, the running mate to Professor Chukwuma Soludo in the forthcomin­g Anambra governorsh­ip election, Dr. Onyekachuk­wu Ibezim, observed that Anambra has recorded tremendous landmark achievemen­ts in all sectors of the economy, assuring that his principal, Professor Soludo, would keep the pace of developmen­t if elected as Governor, and that the State would continue to feel the impact of good governance through the All Progressiv­es Grand Alliance, APGA. Contributi­ng, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Pascal Agbodike, urged Anambra electorate to vote wisely by voting Professor Soludo for good governance to continue in the State.
