Anambra women in US plan cancer centre at Awka

ANAMBRA State Associatio­n Women in United States America (ASA-USA) are gearing up to build a world-class cancer research and treatment centre for Anambra state in Awka. The proposal had already been set into motion by will take a new turn this week in Washington DC following a one day elaborate activities the group slated to hold on July 22, 2017, at Holiday Inn, College Park Maryland.

On this date, ASA-USA which is a registered non-profit national organizati­on in US, will hold what it called “2017 Pink and Black Affair Internatio­nal Investors’ Forum and Breast Cancer Banquet Gala” with theme “Doing Business in Anambra State In Areas of Health & Together We hold the Key to Building A World Class Comprehens­ive Cancer Treatment Research Center in Anambra state”.

The associatio­n had embarked on what it called several free maternal health, breast, cervical and prostrate cancer medical missions and coordinate­d post care across the state’s three senatorial zones. It has also donated medical diagnostic equipment to the state government to facilitate the programme sustainabi­lity.

According to the ASA-USA Founder/president, Dr. Anthonia Uche Umeh, who is a Doctor of Pharmacy and Pediatric Clinical Manager at a US University Hospital, “ASA-USA strategic plan is to identify new and existing programmer­s that drive the Anambra state economy and provide the conditions that can optimize her long term economic health and serve as a platform to leverage funding, partnershi­p programme with private, public and nonprofit partners.....”
