Brothers Charged With Threatenin­g Late Father’s Tenants In Lagos

TWO brothers, Olalekan Kaka and Ibrahim Kaka, yesterday, appeared before an Ikeja Magistrate­s’ Court for allegedly threatenin­g the lives of their late father’s tenants.

The siblings also allegedly damaged a vehicle belonging to their father’s lawyer, Mr. Sola Dada.

The brothers, who reside in Egbeda area of Lagos, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), are being tried for breach of peace, conspiracy, damage and threatenin­g violence. According to the Police prosecutor, Godwin Awase, the accused committed the offences on January 3 at Gowon Estate, Egbeda in Lagos.

He said the accused conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by chasing their late father’s tenants with cutlasses and also damaging the vehicle of a lawyer, Sola Dada. “The accused threatened to damage the residentia­l house, property of their father, late Kabiru Kaka, being managed by the lawyer, Dada.

Undergradu­ate Donates Sanitary Pads To 100 Students To Mark Birthday

FINAL year student of the University of Jos, Miss Lovelyn Dabot, has donated sanitary pads to 100 students of Zawan Community Secondary School, Jos, Plateau State, to mark her 27th birthday. Dabot, of the Department of Administra­tion and Planning in the Faculty of Education, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), yesterday, in Jos that the gesture was to ameliorate the sufferings of young women in society.

“I chose to celebrate my birthday with my younger sisters here, instead of eating and drinking. I have donated sanitary pads that will help them to become better women tomorrow. “When I was in secondary, school like them, sanitary pads were sold for as low as N150, but it goes for between N400 and N500 today. Most of these girls cannot afford it and have resorted to tissue paper, which is very dangerous to their personal hygiene “This gesture is my little way of supporting the younger ones to take their personal hygiene seriously,” she said.
