IFat reef all sin the woods… And no ones around to hear it… I hear it… i feel it… I understand… A tree is built to eventually fall… Marvel as it crashes to the ground…

Awakens the soil… replenish the soil… alive… Fallen trees melt into the forest floor… Replenish the cycles of life… Destroys homes… And creates them… Simultaneously… Homes built with the skeletons of trees… Designed by flesh and bones… We are both alive… We will survive… we will thrive… Together…

Old growth forest is characterized by diversity including openings created by fallen trees. Thus diversity is critical for wildlife. Whether in the forest or in the garden old trees, branches and twigs will fall to the ground.

Instead of throwing fallen tree branches and twigs aside or just using for firewood, why not recycle them for other purposes in the garden or in your home. There are lots of creative things you can turn your tree debris into, that are functional and decorative. A few suggestions:

BRUSH PILE:

Take your fallen branches and create a brush pile, in a desired location away from structures as a habitat for the birds and other small wildlife that may live around your home. An extra benefit: As the wood begins to decompose; it will enrich your soil. You can also keep your branches as firewood. GARDEN DESIGN:

One can take large branches and turn them into a variety of creations, just perfect for adding a little rustic appeal to your landscape. You might nestle a limb into a woodland garden, place a lone log as a rustic seat or take a branch of branches and stems and turn them into fences, ladders, and “stepping stones.” stepping logs really, make stumps for holding containers, garden stakes for support of other plants. You can also use it to construct simple surroundings for compost heaps.

One should be creative. INSIDE DECORATION:

Why not transform tree debris into decorations for your home? You can create items ranging from picture frames, coasters and ornaments to curtain rods, furniture and artwork. Instead of gathering up your fallen branches and twigs, disposing of them, try putting them to use in your home and garden. Be inspired! With a little imagination, research and the right resources, you can transform your fallen tree, branches and twigs into spectacular indoor/outdoor designs or useful garden aides.
