- Frommichael Egbejule, Benin City

THE Acting Vice Chancellor, Edo University, Iyamho, Professor Emmanuel Aluyor, has warned newly admitted students against indulging in social vices capable of derailing their success on campus.

He gave the warning during the matriculation of 350 students for the 2017/ 2018 academic ses- sion held at Iyamho in Etsako West Local Council of Edo State yesterday.

“An act of gangstarism and violence will not be tolerated by the university management. It is management’s belief that students who err will be disciplined while students who do well should be rewarded consequently.

“I want you to bear in mind that most effective way to put across your demands and grievances is through dialogue and all the established channels of communication in the university must be used,” he said.

He said the institution was three years and looking forward to producing its first set of graduates.

“This is the third matriculation ceromony of Edo University and we are looking forward to producing our first set of graduates.

“My dear matriculants, you are celebrated for being the lucky ones that were offered admission. I congratulate you for being the third set of students to take matriculation oath,”aluyor said.

Aluyor said that the institution had signed a Memoradum of Understanding (MOU) with two foreign schools, Worcester University, the United States and Sunderland University, Britain for exchange programme for its students.
