Periodic government cannot save Nigeria, says cleric

- By Kehinde Olatunji

THE founder, Signs and Wonders Prayer Ministries Evangelical for All Nations, Evangelist Felix Adunpe has stated that periodic government cannot take Nigeria from the problems plaguing it.

He however said it is time for well meaning Nigerians, regardless of their religion to seek the face of God to move the nation forward.

In a statement recently, the cleric noted that both the military and civilian governments have failed the people hence the need to seek a divine intervention.

It is on this note he declared that God directed him to hold an Inter-denominational Crusade with the theme: ‘Nigeria Must Be Redeemed,’ from Thursday April 21 to April 27, 2018 Ori Oke Ikoyi in Osun State. Adunpe said: “Nigeria must pray to enjoy peace and unity. It is time to pray for all leaders and for the removal of all spiritual hindrances against our economic growth.

“Merely removing President Muhammadu Buhari and replacing him in 2019 would not fix our problems. It is false to believe or think that periodic change in government can bring desired progress and development to the country, as the nation moves to 2019 elections.

“We have tried both military and civilian governments and yet hope of better life for Nigerians remain a mirage.

“If all political, traditional, religious and community leaders would join in the fasting and prayer, the country would move forward. We cannot be doing the same thing in the same way and expect a different results, we should not continue to waste money on elections periodically with false hope; we must go back to God.”
