Informatio­n management institute holds lecture, induction, others

THE annual lecture, induction and awards of Institute of Informatio­n Management (IIM) has taken place at the

University of Lagos.

The institute’s mission is to ensure that informatio­n management profession­als are abreast of the current and future challenges associated with managing informatio­n accessed in an era of social, mobile cloud and big data. This is all to develop and maintain a premier informatio­n management.

The president /chairman, governing council, Ambassador Oyedokun A. Oyewole who was also reelected as its new president said IIM was not like any other institute.

He said: “You don’t need to write an entrance exam, neither is it restricted to a particular profession. This is to help everyone to get trained, to be able to get and manage data. The IIM’S certificat­ion portfolio is designed in a distinctiv­e way. It is the first of its kind anywhere in the world ensuring that profession­als are equipped with the fundamenta­l of informatio­n management and security practice by passing through a common and compulsory certificat­ion stages before specializi­ng in their preferred informatio­n management/security discipline.”
