Firm boosts off-grid power solutions with Proyten energy
AN organisation, the Africa Moving Grid (AMG), has unveiled a multi-source energy processor, storage, and dispensing system, the Proyten hybrid synchroniser, which delivers clean, true sine wave output power from solar and wind energy.
Unveiling the product in Lagos, Tuesday, the General Manager, AMG Energy Storage Africa, Spiros Esculudes, said the inverter is unique in that it simultaneously converts two clean renewable energy sources - solar and wind , as well as grid energy to store and feed.
According to him, Proyten is an Italian concept developed through over 10 years of research, and is powered by in-built intelligent charger, which “automatically charges its lithiumtype batteries,” while its “compact design makes solar and wind energy interactive installations easier and more cost-effective.”
Esculudes explained that the product is equipped with high density battery, which also neutralises excessive grid power when connected directly as Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), easily adapts to high temperature and resists heat because of its compressor.
Given its capacity variation from 1kva upwards, target users range from simple residential homes to complex business establishments such as medical theatres, financial institutions and schools, among others, as it can replace grid energy seamlessly during outage, he said.
In terms of durability and affordability, the AMG Nigeria Energy Storage Representative and Partner, Tony Owee Ubah, said the appliance, which can work independently in off-grid areas, has a guaranteed 3,650 battery charge and discharge cycle or 10 years for 1-20kva capacity, and is environment-friendly.
Though he said the machine hardly requires maintenance, he added that being computer-compliant makes its maintenance easy through remote sensing, as the software can easily interact and detail the machine to the technical team at the call centre.
According to Ubah, the group hopes to contribute immensely to Nigeria’s economic growth through two direct ways - the provision of clean and renewable energy to boost the nation’s power capacity, as well as job creation through distributorship and maintenance, with all their spiral value chains.
