Kano announces fare for 2018 hajj operations

KAnostate Pilgrims Board has announced final fee for the 2018 hajj operations. Besides, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated 5,500 slots for Kano State for the 2018 operations. The current allocation was a reduction of about 6,500 seats bequeathed the state in 2017. The Public Relations Officer of the pilgrims board Hajia Hadiza Abbas Sanusi, said the state government has pegged the fee at N1,474,167.25.

The release noted that intending pilgrims planning for the spiritual journey for the holy land of Saudi Arabia are expected to make balance of their initial deposit of N1million.

The N1,474167.25 hajj fare is less than the 2017 fee by N63,692. The statement noted that intending pilgrims have up to the end of Ramadan to balance their payment.

Hadiza who confirmed the state preparatio­n has reached advance stage with securing of befitting accommodat­ion for the pilgrims near the holy Mosque in Mecca.

“For now, preparatio­n has reached advanced stage. The board has secured befitting accommodat­es for our pilgrims at Ma’asha near the holy

Mosque of Ka’aba.

“We have also started processing on visa and other logistics, but activities will take full scale immediatel­y after the holy month of Ramadan. That is when the screening and orientatio­n of intending pilgrims will start”. Hadiza noted.
