- By Gbenga Salau

THE Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) will tomorrow stage a social media campaign calling for the release of Leah Sharibu, one of the 110 girls abducted by Boko Haram in February from the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State. Team Leader, Africa and Middle East, CSW, Khataza Gondwe, in a statement,

OYO State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, yesterday, condemned the resurgence of a cult war in the Idi-oro and Ayeye areas of Ibadan North West Local Government, which allegedly claimed the life of an innocent girl. A statement by Special Adviser, Communication and said: “Monday, May 14, will be Leah’s 15th birthday, and CSW has planned a solidarity action to raise the profile of her case. We will be sending out an official tweet to mark the day, which we are asking people to retweet, so we can get #Freeleah trending.

“We are also asking people to send their own tweets using #Freeleah along with Strategy to the Governor, Mr. Bolaji Tunji, said the governor was pained by the disturbing news, especially coming on the heels of the successful conduct of the state’s first local government election in 11 years.

Tunji said the governor condoled with the family of the #Dapchgirls, and if possible, attach a picture of themselves holding A4 or A3 signs with the words “#Freeleah” on them, which we will retweet. Similar actions can also be taken via Facebook.

“Please join us in standing in solidarity with this courageous young girl, in calling for her release and in up- victim, vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Meanwhile, the governor, who cast his vote at 12:07 p.m. with his wife, Mrs. Florence, at Ward 09, Unit 20, Community Grammar School, Oluyole, Ibadan, said reports from the 33 Local Governments and 35 Local holding her right to freedom of religion or belief and education.”

It would be recalled that on March 21, Boko Haram returned 104 of the 110 girls, alongside two other abductees, a male and a female. The returning students claimed five of the students died, while Leah was held back for refusing to denounce her religion and put on a hijab. Council Development Areas (LCDAS) of the state indicated the exercise was orderly, free and fair.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Abiodun Odude, who monitored the exercise, said his men were on ground to ensure an orderly conduct.
