The Power To Create Wealth
“… for it is he that gives thee power to get wealth …” Deut.8:18.
WEare all endowed with the power to create wealth, but only those who explore the power will be wealthy. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundant ly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that work et hi nus .” Eph3:20.
What God promised to do is determined by the measure of the power in you that you put to work. The degree of the power you explore will determine the degree of the wealth you will enjoy. What I mean by ‘power’ in this context is potential (natural talents and abilities). Every individual is gifted to solve problems and add value. Money moves where problems are solved and values are added. If you engage your gift in solving problems and adding values, money will move in your direction. Virtually every wealthy person I know became wealthy, while exploring his/her potential. Let me take you through three steps toward wealth creation.
• Start with having a Job.
“… if any would not work, neither should heeat.”2thess.3:10.
This step will help you take care of the issue of survival, which is number one. This will provide you regular source of income. Your job gives you the opportunity to gain experience and exposure. And though having a job is not enough to create wealth, but it is not a bad start towards wealth creation. It is not advisable sometimes to jump this step in your pursuit of wealth creation. For instance, working in a company will allow you to learn how things are done there. It doesn’t have to be a paid job, as it could be a volunteer job. At this level, it is not about the money per se, but about building profile. You can’t build a good profile and not later experience increase in your financial status. I pray that God will open doors of employment opportunities for as many that are in this category, in Jesus name. • Owning Your Business “Andthatyestudytobequiet,andtodoyour ownbusiness,andtoworkwithyourown hands…”1thess4:11.
Most self-made millionaires are business owners. I know it’s riskier to own a business than having a job. However, it is more rewarding to own your own business, especially after the business might have picked up. Through your own business, you create more jobs and multiply your efforts; hence, you create wealth. You need to starve your weakness or your minor as the business grows. You may also need to hire professionals in order to take your business to another level. Furthermore, you need to structure your business to run itself as it grows.
The owner of a well-run restaurant doesn’t have to be physically present every time the restaurant is open. Most successful business owners have developed a system that runs their company without their physical involvement. If you want to be a successful business owner, you must develop your capacity to manage people (staff and clients). You must also develop your capacity to manage money and sales. You don’t have to have just one business. You can have as many as you have the capacity to manage. Most automobile companies are doing more than selling cars. They do so many other things like repairs (maintenance and sales of spare parts). You can also think of complimentary business ideas that will increase your stream of income.
Business owners are the one in charge of the economy of any nation. For instance, Molfix that make diapers also make tissue paper. I encourage you to move with time from having a job to owning your own business. When you start your own business, you are already on the pathway to wealth creation. I pray that the Lord opens your eyes to see the kind of profitable venture you can go into • Having Your Own Investment Investment is all about making money for you. When you own a business, you are working for money. Investment is one of the most powerful steps in wealth creation. It is said that poor and average people work for money, but wealthy people make their money work for them. Some investments make you share from the profits of other people’s business. The various places wealthy people invest are stock market, capital market and real estate, among others. Investing in real estate is more than just acquiring properties and collecting rents. Make sure you investigate before investing your hard-earned money. When you invest without enough investigation, you are gambling with your money.
