-

FORMER Rangers International talisman, Obinna Nwobodo is over the moon after winning the first trophy in his debut season in Europe. Nwobodo helped Ujpest FC to win its 10th Hungarian Cup after a penalty shootout victory against Puskas Academy. The Final game had finished 2-2 and Ujpest won 54 on penalties to qualify to play in the Europa League next season.

“It’s a befitting way to end the season and I am excited playing a major part in the success,” Nwobodo said

The mercurial midfielder played all games on the way to winning the coveted trophy and enthused that the cup triumph means a lot to him.

“It’s my first cup win here and coming in my very first season, I am really elated. I thank God who made it possible.

“I will work harder to help the team make impact in the Europa league,” he added.

The 2015 U-20 AFCON (Senegal 2015) winner has remained consistent since moving to Ujpest, missing just two games with the season remaining two games to end. He has scored four goals
