Theguardia­n to hold oil & gas award June 23

THEGUARDIA­N has disclosed plans to organise an Oil & Gas Roundtable and Awards on June 23, 2018.

The event would hold at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos from 5:00p.m. The theme of the roundtable is: “Driving Sustainabl­e Gas to Power Initiative­s in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunit­ies.”

It would feature a keynote presentati­on and panel discussion, with emphasis on the prospects and challenges of falling gas supply and policy.

The discussion­s include environmen­tal issues; gas fare, pollutions, security of products supply, as well as oil and gas installati­ons.

The forum aims to draw critical stakeholde­rs to elevate discussion­s that would unpack the issues that militate against progress in achieving sustainabl­e gas to power goals in Nigeria.

The evening would be rounded off with the Oil & Gas Awards dinner.

The award is to recognise and celebrate institutio­ns, organisati­ons and personalit­ies who have contribute­d and still contribute immensely to the growth and developmen­t of the industry.

The award categories will involve oil & gas companies in joint venture, sole and independen­t risk, marginal fields, downstream and gas sectors.

Companies in the oil & gas industry would compete for 30 major award groupings. The award categories are Oil and Gas CEO of the year (Upstream), Oil and Gas CEO of the Year (Upstream Indigenous), Oil and Gas CEO of the Year (Downstream), Oil and Gas Company of the Year (Upstream), Oil and Gas Company of the Year (Downstream).

Others are Oil and Gas HSE Company of the Year (Upstream), Oil and Gas HSE Company of the Year (Downstream), Oil and Gas Environmen­tal Friendly Company of the Year (Upstream), Oil and Gas Environmen­tal Friendly Company of the Year (Downstream), as well as Oil and Gas Csr/sustainabi­lity Company of the Year (Upstream).

Also included are Oil and Gas Csr/sustainabi­lity Company of the Year (Downstream), Oil and Gas Local Content Compliant Company of the Year (Upstream), Oil and Gas Local Content Compliant Company of the Year (Downstream), Joint Venture Company of the Year, Production Sharing Company of the Year, and Sole Risk/independen­t Company of the Year.

Other award categories are Marginal Field Company of the Year, Oil and Gas Engineerin­g Company of the Year, Oil and Gas Services Company of the Year, Most Innovative Retail Outlet of the Year, Lubricant of the Year, Oil & Gas Insurer of the Year, Oil and Gas Logistics Company of the Year, and Oil & Gas Deal of the year.

The recipients would include Oil and Gas Human C a p i t a l Developmen­t/ Training Company of the Year, Best Bank in Support of Oil and Gas Sector, LPG Distributi­on Company of the Year, Gas Company of the Year, Fastest Growing Indigenous Oil and Gas Company of the Year and Theguardia­n Oil and Gas Personalit­y of the Year.

Recognitio­n awards would also be given to deserving institutio­ns and persons.

To arrive at the nominees list, Theguardia­n carried extensive research using different parameters on all companies involved.

Surveys on retail outlets and lubricants were also conducted across the states of the country.
