ANOTHER academic member of staff of Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTEC), Yola, Prof. Allam Mamman Kadams, was yesterday kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Kadams, a professor of crops production from the School of Agriculture, was kidnapped at his private residence located at Federal Housing Estate, Bajabure.

The Registrar of the university, Hajia Halima Bala Mohammed and the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adamawa Command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Othman Abubakar, confirmed the abduction.

The PPRO said a crack team of anti-terrorism squad had been dispatched to ensure that the victim is rescued without any harm.

This is the second time this month that MAUTEC professor was being kidnapped. A professor of soil science in the same School of Agriculture, Prof. Ibrahim Adamu Zata, was early this month kidnapped in his private house.

He was released three days after it was alleged that the family paid N2 million as ransom.
