Gun­men kid­nap an­other pro­fes­sor in Yola var­sity

AN­OTHER aca­demic mem­ber of staff of Modibbo Adama Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy (MAUTEC), Yola, Prof. Al­lam Mam­man Kadams, was yes­ter­day kid­napped by un­known gun­men.

Kadams, a pro­fes­sor of crops pro­duc­tion from the School of Agri­cul­ture, was kid­napped at his pri­vate res­i­dence lo­cated at Fed­eral Hous­ing Es­tate, Ba­jabure.

The Regis­trar of the univer­sity, Ha­jia Hal­ima Bala Mo­hammed and the Po­lice Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer (PPRO), Adamawa Com­mand, Su­per­in­ten­dent of Po­lice (SP) Oth­man Abubakar, con­firmed the ab­duc­tion.

The PPRO said a crack team of anti-ter­ror­ism squad had been dis­patched to en­sure that the vic­tim is res­cued with­out any harm.

This is the sec­ond time this month that MAUTEC pro­fes­sor was be­ing kid­napped. A pro­fes­sor of soil sci­ence in the same School of Agri­cul­ture, Prof. Ibrahim Adamu Zata, was early this month kid­napped in his pri­vate house.

He was re­leased three days after it was al­leged that the fam­ily paid N2 mil­lion as ran­som.
