-

TO address the leadership question in the sector, seasoned educationists will on Saturday, November 10 converge on Lagos to deliberate on ways of transforming the school system and preparing next generation of leaders through the curriculum.

An expert and coordinator, Core Skills Developmental Services, Mrs. Toyin SamEmehelu identified leadership as a major factor in the transformation of any nation, which informed the decision to hold a leadership conference for schools. “Given the fact that leadership is one of the core challenges confronting the country, we are wary of the blame game syndrome and for not rearing our citizens through the educational system for leadership.”

She added that the conference would address issues in the area of leadership in the school system.

“There is a need for a lot of sensitisation, knowledge to be shared and wisdom to be gleaned from leaders in the educational sector that have been able to thrive against all odds. The topics have been carefully selected, and the speakers are top notch in the sector with great works to show for it in their daily lives and in the running of their own organisations.

“The conference will be looking into the areas of building systems and structures for schools, transformation of schools through leadership, preparing the next generation of leaders through the curriculum as well as personal leadership for educators.”

She expressed hope that participants at the end of the conference would be able to update their curricular to raise global leaders to meet our future needs as a nation.
