NGO makes case for flood vic­tims

ANON-GOV­ERN­MEN­TAL or­gan­i­sa­tion, Cen­tre for Peace and En­vi­ron­men­tal Jus­tice, has called on the three tiers of govern­ment to as­sist flood vic­tims na­tion­wide. It urged prompt re­set­tle­ment of the af­fected cit­i­zens The Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor, Sher­iff Mu­lade, told The Guardian that as an or­gan­i­sa­tion with fo­cus on en­vi­ron­men­tal jus­tice, they were sen­si­tis­ing the peo­ple liv­ing in flood-prone ar­eas.

He said their ad­vo­cacy was for the Fed­eral Govern­ment to sus­tain as­sis­tance to the vic­tims while a last­ing so­lu­tion to the men­ace is be­ing worked out.
