Consulate to host real estate summit in New York

DETERMINED to bring investment into the Nigeria real estate sector, the Consul-general of Nigeria, New York has concluded plans to hold an investment forum at the Nigerian House, Manhattan in April.

The two-day event, tagged Real Estate Investment and Mortgage Finance in Nigeria is being organized by Housing Circuit Limited in collaborat­ion with the Consulate. The programme will empower delegates with the knowledge and tools required to make wise strategic investment decisions.

Dignitarie­s expected include the ConsulGene­ral of Nigeria to New York, Benaoyagha Okoyen, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, President/ceo, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Executive Secretary, Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, Dr. (Mrs.) Hannantu Fika.

The Chief Executive Officer, Housing Circuit Limited, Mr. Seun Jegede, said, “In October 2018, Housing Circuit Limited hosted the event, which focused on creating investment opportunit­ies for real estate and finance companies as well as organizati­ons in Nigeria and in the United States of America. It helped sell the Nigerian brands to the outside world.

“The successes recorded by the Real Estate Investment and Mortgage Finance in Nigeria (REIMFIN 2018) Housing Summit in New York, made it expedient to expand the frontiers of this conversati­on by means of a revamped follow- up conference, real estate investment and mortgage finance in Nigeria”.

“The aim of REIMFIN 2019 is to holistical­ly and retrospect­ively assess the success and pitfalls of the REIMFIN 2018 Conference, get feedback from delegates who put the knowl- edge gained to use, and make projection­s for the future”.

“REIMFIN 2019 also seeks to provide a specialize­d networking platform for participan­ts with strategic and leadership positions in their respective fields of endeavour, reveal real estate opportunit­ies in Nigeria to the outside world, enable participan­ts gain expert insight into the new market trends in the real estate sector of Nigeria and USA, by sharing practical experience­s regarding global trends in real estate and mortgage finance”.

According to the Consul, Nicholas Ella, the Consulate General of Nigeria would help in “securing the hall for the event; local running and general planning and arrangemen­ts for the events, and mobilizati­on of Nigerian profession­als organizati­ons and other interested participan­ts to attend the event.”
