Yellow House wins Essy Gold Schools’ sports competition
FAITH (Yellow) House has emerged champions of the fifth bi-annual Inter-house sports competition of Essy Gold Schools, held at the Gbagada Youth Development Centre mini stadium in Lagos at the weekend.
Yellow House earned 15 gold 17 silver and nine bronze medals to outshine others at the sports fiesta.
The students, who took part in the track and field event, displayed high-level of outstanding feat to the delight of parents, who were filled with smiles throughout the duration of the competition. Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer, Essy Gold Schools, Lady Evangelist Onifade Esther commended the students for their extraordinary performance at the inter- house sports. She said sport is vital to the development of the children at their formative stage. “I am highly delighted for the success of the inter House sports. Physical activities give a child all round development. It develops the child’s physical, social, emotional, mental abilities to excel at all levels.
“Organising this interhouse sports will assist the school discover more talents that would be useful for the country in the nearest future. I commend the sports committee and staffers of the school for their cooperation in training the children. I also thank the children for being of good behaviour in the inter House sports,” she said.
In the other results Mercy (Green) House won 14 gold, nine silver and 10 bronze medals to earn second position, while Grace (Blue) House got 10 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze medals to come third, and Favour (Pink) House with seven gold, seven silver and 12 bronze placed fourth in the overall medal table.
