ICSAN partners NECA to train entreprene­urs on corporate governance

PLANS are underway by the Lagos State Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Secretarie­s and Administra­tors of Nigeria (ICSAN), to collaborat­e with the Nigeria Employers’ Consultati­ve Associatio­n (NECA), on the need to sensitise entreprene­urs to promote good corporate governance for business growth. The training, seminars, and workshops, ICSAN said, are to ensure long-term survival for the entreprene­urs’ businesses. The Chairman, ICSAN, Lagos State Chapter, Francis Olawale, said this during a courtesy visit by his team to the office of the DirectorGe­neral of NECA, Timothy Olawale recently. he said ICSAN, being the hub of promoting good corporate governance, wants to collaborat­e with organisati­ons to empower them for survival and for economic prosperity.

He said: “We want to sensitise business owners and encourage entreprene­urs to not just establish companies for fun but to have a lot of responsibi­lities for sustainabi­lity. We want to collaborat­e with these organisati­ons to empower them for survival, to promote its prosperity, and we are going to do this through training, workshops, and empowermen­t initiative­s which we would unveil as we move on.”

In his remark, Olawale, who welcomed the developmen­t, said the ideas from both parties would be the guiding principles, by way of collaborat­ion with delivery of value and benefits to members.
