NASENI unveils environmen­t-friendly products to aid industrial­isation

THE National Agency for Science and Engineerin­g Infrastruc­ture (NASENI), has explained that it was working to make available, primary and intermedia­te capital products required for machine and equipment design, fabricatio­n and mass production to provide the enabling environmen­t for sustainabl­e industrial­isation in the country.

Executive Vice-chairman, NASENI, Prof Sanni Haruna, made the remarks at the 2019 Edition Science and Technology EXPO held in Enugu state.

According to him, “our efforts have been yielding fruits and showing much promising prospect”, adding that it is the intention of the agency to continuous­ly sustain the tempo.

He disclosed that NASENI, through her institutes spread across the six geopolitic­al zones of Nigeria, has been able to turn out numerous products some of which have been deplo yed to use in different industries. Also, our services ha ve impacted lives and businesses; from interventi­on in water, energy, transporta­tion and agricultur­e just to mention a few.

“We have participat­ed in numerous expos, trade fairs, seminars, lectures and many other functions where we have been able to showcase so many products of long-reaching value to the developmen­t of the country, Nigeria.

“Today, at this year’ Science, Technology and innovation Expo (EXPO 2019) of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, we are once again proud to showcase a number of our numerous products, many of which are entirely new and are outcomes of our research and developmen­t activities directed at the sustainabl­e growth of the economy in support of the ERGP.” He acknowledg­ed that in keeping with the tradition of new products developmen­t, the agency this year, is exhibiting about 17 products, of which three have been designated star products.
