Antichrist: Our Response

- By Pastor Lazarus Muoka

BRETHREN, it is wrong to assume that antichrist is yet to come, for many antichrists are already operating in the world. Though, some people may pretend to be ignorant of the presence of the antichrist in this generation, they cannot ignore the fact that many people in our midst today, despite the fact that they are in flesh and blood, have all the characteristics of antichrist as predicted in the Bible.

Antichrist symbolises person or ideology that systematically opposes Christ and His Church. Every enemy of Christ, everyone that opposes His reign in the world is an antichrist. Everyone, who hates righteousness and holiness, and has hunger and thirst to destroy everything that stands for Christ is an antichrist. 1Jn 4: 3 says: “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

Anybody that derides the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ upon the children of men and claims there were no real sufferings by Christ, no shedding of blood, no death on the Cross is an antichrist.

The Scripture says that at the last days, antichrists shall come. They shall have hatred for everything that has something to do with Christ and shall destroy it. They will not only hunt and destroy Churches, but will kill Christians and after the killing will separate their heads from their bodies to ensure Christ is not mentioned from their mouth. And this we witness daily in this present dispensation.

1Jn 2: 18 says, “little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”

Beloved, the antichrists are here with us as predicted and are setting up their own government according to the order of their father the

Devil. All the killings, maiming, kidnapping, political crises all over the world are signs of how the world will be ruled very soon immediately after rapture. That’s why the Scripture says, ‘woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath, but a short time,’ Rev. 12: 12. The present woes evidence the closing dispensation of the world.

Satan knows that he has limited time in which he will be permitted to destroy souls, and to spread woes through the earth. There may be little resistance against his operation now because rapture has not taken place and the saints are still around, but after rapture, the wicked shall realise very late that Jesus is Lord. That is why there are clarion calls for repentance now before it’s too late; for only the righteous shall be delivered. ‘He that hath an ear, let him hear; He that overcometh shall not be hurt. And the only way to overcome is to be born again. The more we remain holy and win souls for Christ, the less the spread of antichrists and desolation. The woes bedevilling the world today stem from the fact that we are lukewarm in our Christian ethics. When we close our mouth and do not profess Christ, antichrists take advantage of us and spread woes.

Matt. 24:15 says: “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:).”

When you see occasion of great desolation, people destroying churches and Christians, then call to mind the prophecy of Daniel and your eyes will be opened to reality of the presence time. If we don’t maintain holiness and righteousness in all we do, antichrists will continue to wax strong. This is the truth, which shall make us free.
