CWC Launches Branches In Oshodi, Mafoluku, Others

- By Gbenga Akinfenwa

Tyears after the establishment of Celestial Women Council (CWC) by its founder, Rev. Pastor S.B.J. Oshoffa, CWC Oshodi/mafoluku/shogunle/ilupeju and Isolo parishes were recently launched to unite women in all the parishes, as part of objectives of the movement to fulfil the council’s aims and mission.

At the inaugural meeting held at CCC Oshodi Parish 1, the first chairperson of the group worldwide, Mother Celestial Abiodun Adefeso, enjoined all celestial women to join hands together to demonstrate positive change in their way of life.

Adefeso explained that the council was initiated by the late Oshoffa in 1984, with chapters across the country and overseas, and that membership is for women from 18 years and above. She encouraged new members to be prepared to spare time to propagate the work of God in the council and church.

The second chairperson of CWC worldwide, Mother Celestial Prophetess Bola Sodeinde, who congratulated the parishes for the inauguration, said the meeting was an indication that the rules and tenets of Celestial Church are active among women in the area.

She noted that revival has entered the movement through the women, advising them to cooperate with one another to ensure steady progress in the church.

She said: “I rejoice with everyone. If the sun and moon could tremble with what they saw in God’s creation, why can’t we human beings honour the Holy of Holies? The call (CCC Hymn 384) and establishment of the women council is not cosmetic but spiritual. We should use love to relate with one another, because truth and righteousness was what He gave us.” While stressing the importance of the monthly meeting, which holds every second Saturday at the CCC International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos, M/C Sodeinde appealed to the shepherds to join hands in love to actualise the mission and vision in the district.

The Supervisor of CWC in the area, Mother Celestial Adewunmi Legunsen Odunaike, also appealed to the women in the parishes to cooperate with her to achieve the purpose of its establishment.
