Croplife Boss Bags Fellow Of Nigerian Society For Plant Protection Award

THepreside­nt of Croplife Nigeria (formerly Agrochemic­al Associatio­n of Nigeria), Alhaji Mahmood Usman Tauhid has bagged the ‘’Fellow of Nigerian Society for Plant Protection’ award, courtesy of the Nigerian Society for Plant Protection.

The event, which was an integral part of the society’s 4th Annual Conference, was held at the Federal University, Oye-ekiti, Ekiti State.

Mahmood’s experience as Crop Protection Specialist was garnered through his service days from CibaGeigy as Senior Agronomist to Novartis and later Sygenta, an expansive peri

od during which he also gathered profession­al experience by interfacin­g with colleagues in Nigeria’s major agricultur­al research institutes including IAR, IAR&T, NCRI, NSPRI and NIHORT. In 1999, he left Sygenta to form Miagro Limited, which has presence in Nigeria, Liberia, SierraLeon­e, Gambia and lately, Rwanda.

Aside his position as the National President, Croplife Nigeria, he is also a member, Nigerian Society for Plant Protection, Weed Science Society of Nigeria, as well as Entomologi­cal Society of Nigeria.
