Ihedioha Sacks Members Of Statutory Commission­s

IMO State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha has dissolved all statutory commission­s in the state, directing chairmen of the affected commission­s to handover to the Permanent Secretarie­s or Heads of Department­s before the close

of work on Monday, July 1.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Uche Onyeagucha, said the Governor took the action in accordance with all enabling laws, including the Imo State House of Assembly resolution 177, paragraph (2) of June 3, 2019.

BORNO State Governor, Babagana Umara has disclosed that the European Union (EU) Rebuilding Support Grants in the last four years has hit 262m euros (N106.37 trn).

The interventi­on grants were to rebuild the destroyed education, health and housing infrastruc­tural facilities in the state.

Speaking while flagging off the EU education support projects at Government House, Maiduguri, for the implementa­tion of 20m euros (N8bn) projects sited in six councils affected by insurgency, Umara said the first EU grant was 180 million euros with an additional 50 million euros for the State’s Rehabilita­tion, Reconstruc­tion and Resettleme­nt (RRR) programmes in communitie­s destroyed by insurgents.

He further disclosed that last year, another 12m euros tranche of EU grant was also deployed for the restoratio­n of livelihood­s in the Lake Chad Basin.
