NAF Fighter Jets Destroy Hideouts, Neutralise Terrorists In Gobara, Bakassi
IN continuation of Operation GREEN SWEEP 2, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole has destroyed terrorists’ hideouts and killed some fighters at Gobara and Bakassi, Borno State in separate air raids.
The settlements are two of the targets selected for at
tack in the intensive air interdiction operations launched by the ATF on Wednesday, last week.
In a statement yesterday, Air Force spokesperson, Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said the jets scored accurate hits in the target area, leading to the destruction of some of the structures and equipment, as well as the killing of several terrorists.
In a similar vein, another active camp belonging to Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) elements located at Bakassi on the fringes of Lake Chad in Northern Borno, was successfully attacked and several terrorists killed in air strikes.
THE Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar has charged personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on the need to continually engage in fitness activities so as to ensure their effectiveness in the discharge of their constitutional duties. The CAS made the call yesterday, during the NAF 2019 Second Quarter Route March Exercise, held in Abuja.
The Exercise, which also held in NAF units and formations across the country,
was led by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Anabi, who represented the CAS at the event.
Abubakar commended the personnel for demonstrating high level of physical fitness, stating that officers and men of the NAF have proved beyond reasonable doubt that they are willing, able and ready to serve the nation and defend its territorial integrity.
He urged the personnel to sustain the military culture of regular exercise to maintain personal physical and mental fitness.
NIGER Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has empowered over 500 women in Cross River State.
The empowerment, which was aimed at developing women politically, socially and economically was organised by NDDC and facilitated by Centre for Women and Vulnerable Children (CWVC) in Calabar.
At the event, a motivational speaker and corporate trainer, Serena Francis, said women should be creative in their thinking.
Consultant to CWVC, Mrs. Ifeoma Egbuonu advised women to listen to their inner self, work on it and build a capacity that would change and impact the society and future generations.
