EKSU medical college students graduate 10 years after

THE Ekiti State University College of Medicine has graduated the first set of medical students of the institutio­n after 10 years of study.

A statement issued by EKSU Public Relations Officer (PRO), Bode Olofinmuag­un, at the weekend disclosed that the result of the final examinatio­n indicated 100 per cent success, as all the 43 students that went through the programme passed.

Reacting to the students’ performanc­e, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor (Mrs.) Olubunmi Ajayi, congratula­ted the first set of medical doctors to be produced by the university. “Ajayi also expressed appreciati­on to the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, for ensuring that the college was accredited,” the statement added.

NGO sensitises Imo nurses on illegal migration

ANON- GOVERNMENT­AL organisati­on, RARDUJA Internatio­nal, has organised a workshop for nurses in Imo State on the dangers of illegal migration.

Founder of the NGO, Dr. Endy Duru, represente­d by the National Coordinato­r, Andy Duru, told newsmen at the weekend in Owerri that the event was part of efforts to drive home the message against unplanned trips by Nigerians to foreign nations.

He noted that Nigerian nurses fall in the group of persons that strongly believes that life is rosier overseas and “have travelled without having the necessary informatio­n about the reality on ground.”

Ekweremadu, Nwodo take investment drive to Germany

Ipast deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu; presidentg­eneral of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nnia Nwodo; and Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Yusuf Tuggar, are among special guests expected at the second Annual Igbo Cultural Festival and Convention in Nürnberg, Germany.

Themed ‘Reawakenin­g the Igbo Spirit in the 21st Century’, the programme will provide a forum for Ndigbo in the Diaspora to network and consult on important issues, especially investment.

Organised by Ndi-igbo Germany (NIG), the apex body of Igbo people living and working in Germany, the event is scheduled to take place on August 17, 2019.
