INSTITUTE of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), has said it will work with the government in developing the code of corporate governance in the public sector for a more vibrant economy.

Bode Ayeku, who disclosed this during his investiture as the 27th president and chairman of council of ICSAN, noted that current global developments require strong corporate governance tenets.

He said ICSAN, in line with its mission to be the leading light on corporate governance will continue to hold public lectures and round tables on transparency, accountability, and securitywith a view to enlightening relevant stakeholders on the need for professionalism and successful running of enterprise or organisations.

While soliciting members’ cooperation to ensure that ICSAN’S dreams are achieved, Ayeku said his two-year tenure will focus on capacity building, partnership with international agencies on corporate governance evaluation by chartered secretaries and administrators to deliver best-in-class services.

“I will connect the past with the future by consolidating on the gains that have been made by my predecessors, and use same as a springboard for achieving our agenda. I will pursue our programmes with strong determination, speed, courage and wisdom. I will not relent in my efforts in achieving our set goals and objectives,” Ayeku said.

The immediate past president, Samuel Kolawole, in his valedictory address, and account of his stewardship, claimed he delivered on his agenda to a large extent, and wished Ayeku a successful tenure at the institute.
