Alpha Mead Group appoints Sunmonu as chairman

THE Board and Management of Alpha Mead Group, one of Africa’s leading Total Real Estate Solutions Companies, has announced the appointmen­t of Mr . Mutiu Sunmonu (CON) as the new chairman of its Board of Directors.

Sunmonu’s appointmen­t is coming on the heels of the retirement of Obi Nwasike, the company’s pioneer Chairman, who has led the company since inception in 2007.

“I am indeed proud of what we have built over this past 12 years in collaborat­ion with all stakeholde­rs; and feel fulfilled and honoured to be handing over to Sunmonu who has proven experience and expertise in growing businesses across different sectors.” Nwasike said at a private handing over ceremony in Lagos.

In his speech, the Group Managing Director of Alpha Mead Group , Femi Akintunde, an engineer , thanked the outgoing chairman for his leadership and support over the years and welcomed the new chairman; saying that the company looks forward to his mentorship and guid

- ance particular­ly at this point when the company is just consolidat­ing its group structure.

Giving his acceptance speech, Mr Sunmonu commented: “I am inspired by the achievemen­ts of Alpha Mead over the past 12 years. The phenomenal growth and expansion that the company has achieved show that this company has a great future. I am confident that we can together leverage on past successes, embrace newly inspired innovation­s and take this company to new heights. I am very proud to be part of your future”.

Sunmonu, a first-class graduate of Mathematic­s and Computer Science for the University of Lagos, has over 30 years of profession­al and management experience. His remarkable career saw him rise from being a Computer Programmer and Business Analyst at Royal Dutch Shell PLC, to becoming the company Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria and Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Developmen­t Company (SPDC) Nigeria between 2010 and 2015.
