Agali, VCN boss begin search for new Eagles stars

SUPER Eagles’ Former Striker, Victor Okechukwu Agali and sponsor of VCN Under-17 Football Cup in Lagos, Victor Nwaribeaku have tasked players featuring in the Season Three of the age grade competitio­n to strive to do better than the likes of Odion Ighalo, Mikel Obi, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Taribo West and

Vincent Enyeama, among others in their career.

Agali and Nwaribeaku believe the platform provided by VCN Management should be well utilised particular­ly by the players in the tournament holding from August 5 to 31, 2019 at both the Caleb Field, Magodo, Ikosi and Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Lagos. Agali advised the players to improve on their talent and be committed and discipline­d, adding, “there is no short cut to football success, hence they must grab this unique opportunit­y to get attention of top clubs and national teams’ coaches.” Nwaribeaku explained that his love for youth football developmen­t informed his decision to sponsor the tournament, saying, “I cannot stop supporting and encouragin­g youngsters to take over from the fading ones.

“The winners of the Season Three tourney would take home the sum of N200, 000 and a trophy, while first and second runners up would get the sum of N100, 000 and N50, 000 respective­ly.”
