THE Police in Edo State, at the weekend, arrested a 44-year-old man, Edoghogho Omorogbe, for killing his mother in-law, sister in-law and a sixmonth-old baby in Edo State.

Edoghogho killed his victims on September 17, 2019, at their residence at Iguadolor community in Ovia North East Local Council of Edo State.

His victims were identified as Mrs. Alice Omorogbe, 52, Mrs. Blessing Efe 25, and her baby. A two-year-old girl inside the room at the time of the attack, was spared.

The mutilated bodies of the woman and her daughter were discovered the following morning.

Edoghogho said he killed his in-laws because of the illtreatment meted on him whenever he had a quarrel with his wife, and accused his in-laws of always hiring ‘boys’ to beat him anytime his wife reported him to her family.

“I am a tipper driver. Since the rains started, I ha ve been doing menial jobs. I killed them out of annoyance. My mother-in- la w used thugs to beat me up. If I quarreled with my wife, she would send ‘bo ys’ to beat me up. .

“I didn’t know the cutlass would meet the baby. After I killed them, I ran away. Later, I came out and went to tell my father what I did. I have not seen my wife since I killed her mother and sister, ”Edoghogho said.

Edo Police Commissioner, CP. Danmallam Mohammed said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
