El-rufai, NGOS Wage War Against Drug Abuse
THekaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-rufai has promised that his administration will not relent in its efforts to eradicate the excessive use of drugs, especially amongst the youth in the state.
He said the scourge is on the increase and becoming a big problem to the society.
The governor said this during a one-day sensitisation program tagged: ‘Narcotics; a journey to perdition,’ organised by frendz United in Kaduna, yesterday, said his government is ready to partner NonGovernmental Organisations (NGOS) in addressing the issue.
In her speech, the Senior Programme Officer, National Orientation Agency, (NOA), Rashida Othman Bakono said there is need to collaborate with other stakeholders, especially in the area of sensitising the public to stay away from substance abuse.
President of the association, Rosemary Esekhagbe disclosed that the programme is a strategic engagement to synergize with other stakeholders and build a society that is free of drugs abuse.
