- By Daniel Anazia

I Nline with its mission to improve the entertainment industry through providing hands-on practical training experience for practitioners, students and aspirants, the film school, PEFTI recently partnered the United States Embassy in Nigeria and Canon Inc., on a film workshop, which ran throughout the month of November.

To ensure that the workshop lived up to its billing, the institute engaged the services of the best hands such as Austen Udoh, who handled professional photography, which climaxed with a digital photo show, as well as Nyacho Nwanri from Gambia, who taught practical filmmaking, which also led to the premiere of short films produced by participants.

American Film Showcase, funded by US State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), and produced by University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts (SCA), brought Robert Hurst, one of the most successful and well-known jazz bassists from America, who facilitated Sound and Post-production Master classes, as well as Kenneth Gyang, who facilitated a Directing Masterclass and trained the participants on raising Capital, Film Production, and Packaging Films for International Film Festivals.

Commenting on the partnership, Managing Director of PEFTI Film Institute Abiola Adenuga said, “we appreciate the United States Embassy as well as Canon Cameras for the continued trust and partnerships they have with our organisation. All the workshops we had in November 2019 were totally free and were attended by over two hundred people.”
