The Power Of Blessing

UNTIL you thirst and hunger for change, it doesn’t come. Until you are desperate for it, you may not get it. It is not everybody that crosses that line. Everybody will get something, but to get what will make you stand out, you must show some sincere desperation. It is ‘they that thirst after..’ that will be filled.’ Not just anyone that opens his mouth. The Psalmist says, ‘As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? Psalm 42:1-3
It is God’s will for us to be blessed (Genesis 1:28). But you must hunger and thirst for it. The Bible says you don’t give the children’s bread to the dog.
But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. Matthew 15:26
To be blessed is to be empowered and anointed to succeed. Blessing is first spiritual (Ephesians 1:3). Then it translates into all kinds of physical, material and financial dimensions. Blessing is also physical (Genesis 25:5-6). It is released through spoken words –
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14.
When you carry the blessing, you will be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue and have dominion.
People often miss God and to give glory due to Him by misinterpreting their status. The blessing brings about physical manifestation called prosperity. When I say prosperity, I mean good home, business, family, money etc. One is not blessed because he is rich; you are rich because you are blessed.
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22
It is the blessing that makes a man to fulfil purpose in life. A man not blessed will live in rags.
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:2-3
That God blessed a man means he is empowered to prosper and succeed, despite the prevailing circumstances. Little wonder Jabez cried out for blessing and not for material things, because he had an understanding that if he gets the blessing, every other thing will come.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:10
