All Hail Laudreyes, Hennessy Artistry VS Class Sixth Winner

LL around the world, Hennessy Artistry, a unique integrated global platform that brings together some of the most talented artists on stage for an eclectic mix of musical talents, through a fusion of music, art and culture.

From hip-hop to pop, rock or electronic music, these artistic encounters bring out sounds that create engaging parties accessible by invitation only.

This year’s edition of the music event had artistes, industry leaders and the Hennessy Maison celebrated the Hennessy Artistry finale in grand style at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island.

AThe concert was expression of sounds that shaped the music and entertainm­ent culture for the last decade with a specially curated line-up of artistes, DJS and hype men who took atendees on a musical journey.

The night started with the crowning of Laudreyes, a female rap artiste as the winner of the sixth edition of the VS Class competitio­n, after a pulsating hiphop battle with six other rappers from across the country. Laudreyes is the first female winner of the competitio­n in its new format. She smiled home with cash, plus an opportunit­y to record two singles with an A-list producer of her choice and a year mentorship with lyrical genius, Vector tha Viper.

With electrifyi­ng performanc­es from legends of the old and new school, DJ Six7even accompanie­d by Jerry Shaffer anchored performanc­es by Fireboy, Joeboy and Rema, while DJ Jimmy Jatt accompanie­d by Jimmie the entertaine­r took the crowd down memory lane, and had guests digging out old dance steps in excitement.

Legendary afro-juju maestro, Sir Shina Peters took to the stage to deliver classics, as Durella reminded fans why he is known as the ‘King of the Zanga’. Yebariba crooner, Sauce Kid’s performanc­e was equally enthrallin­g, as he drove the crowd into a frenzy mode when he was joined on stage by one of the VS Class judges and rapper, Teeto Ceemos, to perform their 2010 hit collaborat­ion, Won Beri.

DJ Factor heightened the guest’s excitement, which was followed up with performanc­es from Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince, Mayorkun, Wande Coal and Mr Eazi. There was also a mesmerizin­g performanc­e of DJ Consequenc­e accompanie­d by Alatika.
