Pres. Obama met with the Dalai Lama ( 80), spiritual leader of Tibet, for the 4th time. China condemned the meeting, which was closed to media coverage.

• 2014 - Kenya

At least 50 people were killed after suspected al Shabaab gunmen in two minibuses sped into Mpeketoni town on the coast, shooting soccer fans watching a World Cup match in a television hall and targeting two hotels, a police post and a bank.
