Buratai commends army for killing 20 B’haram terrorists in Monguno

of Army Staff ( COAS), Lt.- Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai has commended officers of the Army Super Camp in Monguno for killing about 20 members of the Boko Haram Terrorists ( BHT/ ISWAP) group that attacked the town on June 13, 2020.

This followed Defence Headquarte­rs ( DHQ’S) confirmati­on that the air and ground assaults on the terrorists who had attacked Monguna, killed 20 of them and severely injured others.

A statement issued by Director, Army Public Relations ( DAPR), Col. Sagir Musa, quoted Buratai as saying that he was impressed by the number of casualties on the terrorists’ side, equipment captured or destroyed with the support of the Air Task Force.

He urged the officers to remain firm and resolute in containing insurgency, adding that Buratai further charged the Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole to consistent­ly engage in massive offensive patrols at all identified terrorists’ locations and enclaves within the theatre to ensure they were completely eliminated.

Buratai also assured the troops and people of the North West, especially Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara states that he would soon visit the region to ensure that the bandits were properly decimated.

Coordinato­r of Defence Media Operations ( DMO), Maj.- Gen. John Enenche, also said the ground troops of Sector 3 and Air Task Force Operation Lafiya Dole successful­ly repelled attacks on Monguno town and inflicted heavy casualties on terrorists, who attempted to breach Munguno Town in Borno State on Saturday, June 13, 2020.
