Terra Kulture’s Austen- Peters On Glo- Powered African Voices

THIS weekend’s edition of Globacompo­wered CNN African Voices Changemake­rs will feature Bolanle Austen- Peters, the founder and Managing Director of Terra Kulture.

The 52- year- old lawyer, who is regarded as the ‘ Queen of Nigerian Theatre’, is an awardwinni­ng film and theatre director. She is expected to talk to viewers about her Nigerian arts and culture centre located in Lagos, Nigeria, as well as her film company, BAP Production­s.

BAP Production­s has produced a number of popular musicals such as Saro The Musical, Wakaa The Musical, Moremi The Musical, Fela and the Kalakuta Queens and Fela’s Republic and The Kalakuta Queens’.

She has also produced several films including, 93 Days and Bling Lagosians and is at the moment working on launching an online academy which she believes will expand the Nigerian theatre.

A graduate of the University of Lagos, Austen Bolanle- Peters attended the London School of Economics and Political Science where she obtained a master’s degree in internatio­nal law. She worked with the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights in Switzerlan­d before joining the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the United Nations Developmen­t Programme.

African Voices Changemake­rs runs on the DSTV Channel 401 on Sunday at 12.30 a. m. The programme will be repeated the same day at 4.30 a. m., 7.30 a. m., 12.30 p. m. and 7.30 p. m., with further repeats on Monday at 3.00 a. m. and 5.30 a. m.
