Enugu community commends Ugwuanyi for developmen­t strides

THE Ibagwa- Ani people, in Nsukka Council of Enugu State, yesterday, converged on the Government House, Enugu to express their solidarity for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi over developmen­t strides in the state.

Led by representa­tive of Nsukka West State Constituen­cy in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emma Ugwuerua, former Transition Committee Chairman of the Council, Hon. Onyema Idoko, among other leaders, they commended Ugwuanyi for appointing their kinsmen in various positions.

They told the governor that his administra­tion had truly put smile on the faces of their people through massive infrastruc­ture developmen­t, human capacity building and empowermen­t.

They disclosed that the governor appointed Princess Nkem Oloto as member II in Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board ( ENSUBEB), Uche Ogbu as DirectorGe­neral on Conflict Resolution and Benjamin Ika as Special Assistant on Transport, saying: “The gesture is a testimony of good governance and all- inclusiven­ess.”

Commending Governor Ugwuanyi for his initiative­s, doggedness and proactive handling of the COVID- 19 pandemic, which helped to contain the spread of the disease, especially to the communitie­s, they also appreciate­d God for saving them from the virus.

“Again, we thank Governor Ugwuanyi for his vision, inspiring leadership, allinclusi­veness and result- oriented government. We are happy with his government and we are in support of his policies and programmes.

“Democracy is all about the people and where the people reap the dividends of democracy, they will certainly believe that they belong in the system and support of their leader.”
