Outcome Of Anambra Governorship Poll Will Determine Igbo President— Okorie

• As Okwuosa Pledges To Reposition State

- From Uzoma Nzeagwu, Awka

T HENational leader of the United Progressives Party ( UPP), Dr Chekwas Okorie, has said the outcome of the November 6 Anambra State governorship elections will determine the realisation of Igbo president by Ndigbo in Nigeria.

Okorie, who stated this, yesterday, at an event to collapse the UPP structure into the Sir Azuka Okwuosa campaign organisation, an aspirant under APC, advised party members to work hard and ensure they win the Anambra State governorship election. He said: “The 2021 Anambra election is very important to Igbo nation. Ndigbo getting the Presidency depends on the outcome of Anambra State governorship election. It is a serious assignment.

“Today, we are here for Okwuosa, who has paid his dues and has climbed the political ladder. He was former chairman Nnewi Local Council, now Nnewi North and South Councils and a former commissioner in the state.

“He understands Anambra terrain and is a home based governorship aspirant. I expect that he will emerge the APC candidate in November 6 election. We strongly back Azuka Okwuosa and our members will work for him.

“We insist on democratic election and will not accept writing results from Abuja,” Okorie said, promising to relocate to Anambra State, if Okwuosa clinches the APC ticket.

Responding, Okwuosa assured that he would reposition Anambra, if voted in as governor, insisting that his mandate is to work for Ndigbi’s interest and Nigeria in general.
