Ministering To The Hurting World ( 3)
I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me ( Matthew 25: 36)
THIS is the third phase of this topic, ministering to the hurting World. Another aspect of concern is our responsibilities to the sick and those who are in prison. And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
( Luke 5: 31). Jesus Christ’s concern must be our concern in life. Visiting and responding to the welfare of the sick is the primary assignment. When Jesus’ mother- in- law was sick, he looked after her and Jesus prayed and she got healed. The anointing that you have is to do the work of healings and to restore the hope of the sick.
The first thing to do is to visit the sick: You are not to visit to add to their problems, but to relieve them of their depression. Jesus said emphatically that, “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” ( Mark 16: 17- 18). Secondly, pray for the sick, Jesus said that … “they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well”. The prayer of faith will heal the sick says James. Power to heal the world is invested in you. So, rise today and heal those that are physically and spiritually sick. I exercise this power through the name of Jesus Christ that every form of sickness worrying individuals should disappear and get your healing in Jesus name. Amen.
Finally, “… I was in prison and you visited me.” This social ministry is meant for every child of God. Paul and Silas will best understand the experience of prison. Dungeon and hell well described prison. Some are imprisoned unjustly, while some are being punished for their crime. Regardless of their crime, they need our visitation. Your little gift sent to the prisoners has a long way to go in their
lives. They need the word of encouragement and your periodical counsel to turn a new leaf and how they can be integrated back to the society. The parents and family members of the inmate must also be visited and ministered to.
Jesus was so emphatic on these kinds of people during His life ministry. Today is resurrection morning. Think of the life that you will touch. Jesus died and gave Himself to the world.
