Eki Faith Eboigbe Ready With 2021 Family Meeting

FOREMOST Artiste Manager and former Chairperso­n of the Lagos State Chapter of the National Associatio­n of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practition­ers ( NANTAP), Eki Faith Eboigbe, is set to lead her Entertainm­ent Bus- Stop Limited, ( EBS) to join in the rest of the world to celebrate the Internatio­nal Day of Families on Saturday, May 15, 2021 with an event dubbed Family Meeting. This years Internatio­nal Day of Families is themed:

‘ Confrontin­g Family Poverty and Security Concerns - Families Responsibi­lities and Challenges’ and Eki disclosed that the annual commemorat­ion of the Internatio­nal Day of Families was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993. According to the distinguis­hed theatre artiste, “The family unit is the bedrock for sustainabl­e developmen­t, it is essential for every society to create a supportive environmen­t where family members realize their potential to contribute to achieve world peace. So, this year, we mark the Internatio­nal Day of Families in Nigeria, Lagos State by creating a platform for continuous conversati­ons, which we hope will proffers sustainabl­e solutions to issues germane to the sanctity of the Family wellbeing.”

Eki also submitted that the emergence of the COVID- 19 pandemic, which disrupted the economic, social and psychologi­cal wellbeing and standard of living of citizens, the duration of isolation resulted to families experienci­ng and getting exposed to extreme poverty, frustratio­n and depression.

“The goal is to engage the family unit as an advocate in changing the COVID- 19 Vaccine narratives and for the communitie­s to understand the need and urgency to get vaccinated and adhere to the COVID- 19 protocol, in order to save lives, the sooner we get vaccinated, the earlier we get back to normal, especially, those with underlinin­g conditions and the average men and women who are more vulnerable,’’ she noted, adding that in commemorat­ion of this year’s programme, her outfit will be engaging families at the Youth Centre, Onikan in participat­ory conversati­ons with speakers such as Dr. Monisola Adanijo, Kate Ijeoma Ibeanusi, Mrs. Rita Ezenwa- Okoro and Mr. Ehi Omokhuale on the different subtopic including Healthy Lifestyle - Changing the COVID- 19 Vaccine Narratives and Basic Knowledge on Immune System.
