Police Arrest Eight Kidnappers In Osun

As Suspects Confesse To Killing 4 Victims

THE Osun State Police Command has arrested eight members of a serial kidnap gang at Omo Ijesa Village in Osun State. Among those arrested were four females and four males.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Police, Yemisi Opalola, the suspects were arrested on May 7, 2021, sequel to acting on an intelligen­ce the command received in a followup on a case of the kidnap of a 65- year- old woman, Akiishi Catherine in Benue State.

The operation was said to have been led by the Command’s Commission­er of Police, CP Olawale Olokode.

Opalola said prior to arrest of the young suspects, Police investigat­ions revealed that they relocated to Osun State after kidnapping the woman to escape arrest in Benue State. According to the Police, the arrested male suspects were Orikashima David ( Cash money), aged 22; Teryange Demenogo ( Small), aged 22; Terngu Tortindi ( Kareen) aged 25, and Aondoaseer Terver, 21. The females were Anawuese Akough, aged 19; Mbalumulum Kaorga, aged 18; Comfort Terdoo, aged 22 and Michael Msendoo, aged 19. All suspects were said to be Tivs from Benue State.

Police investigat­ions revealed that the suspects had murdered their victim, Mrs. Akiishi Catherine, in Benue State before relocating to Osun State.

Opalola said the suspects also revealed to the Police team how they murdered another three victims in their previous operations.

“The suspects would be handed over to the Benue State Police Command as soon as preliminar­y investigat­ions are concluded, “she said.
