We’ll Give Priority To Capacity Building Of Members — Idowu
THenew chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ( NIEEE), Ogun State Chapter, Engr. Olumayowa Idowu said his administration is ready to give utmost priority to the enhancement of capacity building of the members, promoting their professional competence, as well as keep them abreast of the daily happenings in the engineering world.
Idowu, who stated this during his inauguration as the third chairman of the chapter and other executive members at the Valley View Auditorium, Government House, Oke- Igbein, Abeokuta, also vowed to improve on the human capacity of the association, as well as drive professional ethics in moving the body forward.
He said his tenure will ensure a robust partnership with the Ogun State government, which will usher in the training and professional development of members, among others.
Idowu listed a number of programmes that will make the workshop and training achievable to include distinguished electrical engineering lecture, power energy summit, broadcasting engineering seminars, regular online technical sessions, informative membership database/ networking, welfare and corporate social responsibility.
He disclosed that the chapter had already submitted its application for the hosting right of the 18th International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunications ( ICEPT) 2022.
“Our administration and chapter look forward to hosting all members of NIEEE in October 2022 for the best ever ICEPT in the history of our institute,” he said.
In her speech, the General Manager, Nigerian Television Authority ( NTA) Abeokuta, Mrs. Funmi Wakama, described Idowu as cerebral.
She commended his passion for the engineering profession, stressing the fact that he has added value to the television station by bringing it into the limelight through modern- day technology.
Other executive members are Engr. Abolaji Ilori ( Deputy Chairman); Engr. Akinola Solanke ( General Secretary); Engr. ( Mrs.) Tolulope Erinosho ( Vice chairman power engineering section); Engr. Temitope Adegbuyi ( vice chairman, Instrumentation, Control and Automation Engineering Section); Engr. Adewale Oguntade ( Vice Chairman, Telecommunication and Computer Engineering Section) and Engr. Olutunde Odumola ( Treasurer).
Others are Engr. Monsuru Lamidi ( Financial Secretary); Engr. Oludayo
