Soaring On The Wings Of Grace ( 1)
GRACE can be defined as Christ taking my place and exchanging his strength for my weakness. It is God’s license unto me to get what I don’t deserve. It is only by grace we have access to receive what Christ has given. It is the power to become what we are created for.
From the moment we became born again, we are transformed to the kingdom of Christ. This kingdom is different from the kingdom of the world ( Romans 12) we don’t operate in this kingdom the way we do when we were in the kingdom of the world. We are transformed by the renewal of our minds.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12: 2
We have to see things differently, just as eternity should be the basis of our actions if we are to enjoy His grace.
We can’t live according to the pattern and ways of people of the world and enjoy grace abundantly; old life does not produce the life of grace in this kingdom.
“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15: 10
Grace empowers men to accomplish divine assignments:
“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Grace is not a license for laziness. The scripture says: “I labour more abundantly...” that is by the virtue of the grace released upon my life it strengthens me for productive work. It does not allow me to be unproductive. I am empowered for great work, yet not I but the grace of God upon me.
Grace is result oriented.
The grace of God we received must not be in vain. It was designed by God to be result oriented. The fruit of grace is tangible, visible and touchable. That is, grace has fruits and by the fruits it produces in a man’s life we know grace is at work.
When you see some fruits or results in a man’s lives
compare to what is expected of him, you conclude it is the works of grace. Grace is known by her children.
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. Luke 2: 40
For the grace of God not to be in vain, there must be result.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Corinthians 9: 8
