Firm to train 1000 Nigerians on digital, technical skills

AFIRM, Elev8, is set to train 1000 Nigerian business owners in digital and technical skills.

Country Head, Elev8, Ashim Egunjobi, said while informatio­n technology ( IT) drives innovation, the firm is committed to helping to equip IT specialist­s, business managers, and leaders in over 1000 companies to upskill and reskill by 2020.

She said this was to make them the beneficiar­ies to comprehend, adapt and implement technologi­cal advancemen­ts and tools in a variety of ways to increase the value chain and grow the economy.

She stated that businesses across all sectors are accelerati­ng the adoption of technology and digitalisa­tion to establish a competitiv­e edge, drive growth and ensure efficiency.

According to her, Nigeria’s workforce has to be technologi­cally educated, trained and upskilled as the coun - try strives to stay up with the rest of the globe.

Egunjobi noted that Elev8 seeks to work with govern - ment, technology organisati­ons to provide skilling initiative­s to the population and talents by equipping participan­ts to be success - ful in the tech space.

“We look to provide impactful and practical learning experience­s in emerging technology, which includes data, Artificial Intelligen­ce ( AI), cloud, machine learning, cybersecur­ity and others, to enable profession­als and executives harness the power of technology and combine technology and leadership to develop digital leaders,” she said.

According to her, the training is tailored to enable participan­ts to gain deeper knowledge, understand­ing and certificat­ion around those emerging technology skills and equipped with the required skill for the future.
