Ortom Blasts FG Over N6.25b For Ranching In Katsina, Demands N100b For Benue

• Demands N100b For Benue

- From Joseph Wantu, Makurdi.

BENUE State Governor, Samuel Ortom has stated that it is hypocritical for the Federal Government to approve N6.25b for ranching in Katsina State.

Ortom, who spoke in Makurdi, yesterday, said that if the President could approve such amount for setting up of ranches in Katsina State, then, he should also approve N100b for Benue State.

Ortom said such a move contradicted the Federal Government’s earlier stance, which insisted on open grazing.

While expressing disgust that the All Progressives Congress ( APC)- led Federal Government has failed Nigerians woefully, Ortom said Nigerians were “suffering and smiling.”

He said: “I remember the late Fela Anikulakpo Kuti’s song entitled Suffering and Smiling. That is exactly what we are going through in Nigeria under the APC- led Federal Government.

“Fela spoke, prophetically, about what we are going through in Nigeria. Today, Nigerians are truly suffering and smiling. I feel so sad because we have failed our country. May God help us.

“Tell me where we are economically and security wise. Politically, where is Nigeria?

When I see decamping from one political party to APC, I wonder what they are going there to do. A government that has failed completely in all areas.

“Even you, can you in all honesty say this government has impacted your life? So, we must not be afraid to speak out…”
